accordingto the road code if it can exed 55 it needs a warrent and the rider needs a class 6 licence
Or you just need to be able to slow down fast when you see a piggy
The 'Road Code' is a mere interpretation of the regulations and cannot be used as a defence (and by logical extension, for prosecution) - I recall someone saying there is a disclaimer in there somewhere to that effect.
(my emphasis)Traffic Regulations 1976 (SR 1976/227) (as at 01 October 2008)
Moped means a motor vehicle running on 2 or 3 wheels that is fitted with a motor having a power output not exceeding 2 kilowatts and is designed to be ridden at a speed not exceeding 50 kilometres per hour under normal conditions of use
If it wasn't for a concise set of rules, we might have to resort to common sense!
