    Removal of R6 suspension?

    Hi

I have an 06 R6 and have removed the front forks today, no probs.
I want to remove the rear shock so i can get them off to Robert Taylor, is there anything i need to know when removing the rear shock or reinstalling the front and rear shock??

Thanks in advance for you pundits of wisdom.

put a jack under the engine, or hang the rear subframe from above to stop the arse end collasping when you remove the rear shock.

and use a torque wrench when reassembling. crushed fork tubes from overtightening arent cool.

AND... be VERY anal retentive when it comes to refitting the forks- make sure they are both EXACTLY the same level/ height above the triple clamp. And use a torque wrench to tighten the clamp bolts, including the axle clamp bolts

Edit: I made up some stands which pick up on the swingarm pivot... makes removing shocks a piece of piss

and if really fussy...use a spirt level across top of tees and really take care and take time to check and recheck as you retighten ...things can shift due to slight tension while tightening..

Extremely good idea! Most Jap bikes leave the factory with only a bare minimum of grease on the linkage bearings
