Bainesse is on the Palmerston North-Himatangi Road. Heading south, don't take the Opiki Road and it's about 7km further on. School on the left. Heart of the Manawatu sand country.

Add the fact that we're doing the "scenic route" and it's going to be 1000+

I shall be attempting the whole desert road on 1 wheel.
If you're going to Napier via Route 52, take care on Mrs H's corner (about halfway between Ti-tree Point and Wimbledon).

If she feels up to it, I may pillion said Mrs H to Napier for the weekend.

I am, in my haste to gratuitiously stoke my ego, I forgot where I was going. The ParaParas will be a leeetle more tricky. (Especially since I can't stay up on one wheel, anyhoo....)

Its Too long (at least thats what they say)

Sorry StoneChucker but it's just too much of a mamouth ride for me! Seems I have other things to attend to this weekend - will save my riding time for Sunday morning instead.

Hope this great weather holds up for you and don't get too knackered!

Looks like a long way, are you sure it's 12hrs riding only? - looks longer to me.

Now that was unkind Paul .... I happen to know that the young "lady" in question was shaved and shampooed just 2 hours before she came over !! I could tell because all the neighbourhood cats were in a frenzy chasing the hair down the street .....

Hey Dave ... I might try to catch up with you guys a bit later on in the day ... :spudwave: got things to do with the kids in the morning but I should be free for the rest of day from about 11am onwards ... and yes I have tightened all the screws and bolts and added more oil to the old girl in anticipation of getting away ... So keep an eye for me ... just look for the cages diving off the road to avoid me and my dangling bits & pieces ...

We're going to go to New Plymouth (via Paraparas/Te Kuiti/Awakino Gorge).

SC/VTWIN: have a great (safe) ride.

    Bumpity Bump

Don't forget, those that are coming along. Meet at Caltex Rimutaka, 07:45 gassed up and ready to go. If it's bucketing down, ride will probably be cancelled.
