Actually, a couple of years ago, two guys turned up out the back of the shop on FA50s. One had vibrated the exhaust off.

Asked 'em where they were going and they sez "Christchurch to see our sister."

    "Fuck! Where ya come from?"

    "Tauranga."

Jeez louise! That is one loooooooonnnnng ride!

Mate of mine did a trip from North Shore to Dunedin with only the ferry sailing as a break.

Did it on a Guzzi MK1 Le Mans. Now THAT'S a trip....

    Well

Wgtn to Taupo is ABOUT 500kms, so return is 1000kms...
Add the fact that we're doing the "scenic route" and it's going to be 1000+

I shall be attempting the whole desert road on 1 wheel.

on sunday after riding with some kb crew in over takas i rode to taupo to see a friend an pick some stuff up....

with no licence rego an warrant on my chopper chasing 250,

one the way up i saw 17 police cars on main highways an even more on way back, (not including ones in towns) an not one of them got mer for speeding even though i had the cbr singing away at about 15k in 6th gear most of way.

but ill be keen, naturally i end upa we bit behind other bikers but thats good bit of a buffer for when cops coming other way an they slow down...

    Fark! You aint wrong son....

I rode the Mk2 from Pukekohe to Raumati one wet night after 4 days camping in the infield at Pukekohe. (got home around 1 am or some thing) I could hardly walk for a week afterwards.

Dem Mk1 / 2 seats is HARD.... No seriously - it's called a seat but it's just a single piece of moulded rubber that pertified into a sculpted log of coal 2 minutes after the bike left the factory. Our sheep skin has multiple layers of foam underneath just to coax the fair Vicki onto the pillion.

Thats why we are getting a flash new one.. Woo Hoooooo!

only to be spotted after doing copious amounts of spots on my FRIENDS gas cooker down at the lake watching asians trying to hit golf balls onto the pontoon, not one of the group could get anythitng decent, amongst the mockery from certain onlookers, quite amusing

Cool... A new seat or a new bike?
And I to my motorcycle parked like the soul of the junkyard. Restored, a bicycle fleshed with power, and tore off. Up Highway 106 continually drunk on the wind in my mouth. Wringing the handlebar for speed, wild to be wreckage forever.

Wash your potty mouth out you philistine! A new bike indeed! Haarumph! It IS my new bike... It's only 25 years old (the other one is 35) ... Technology has not advanced that much.

Mind you..... New seat, new rear tyre, new dampers up front recently, new battery - fark! Nearly is a new bike

Why do you want to ride a mammoth Dave? You already had a chance at one large hairy mammal this year (well technically she would have been riding you I suppose)... And you turned it down.
