Best wishes on ya birthday Warr !!
A girlfriend once asked " Why is it you seem to prefer to race, than spend time with me ?"
The answer was simple ! "I'll prolly get bored with racing too, once i've nailed it !"

    Bowls can wait !

Perhaps I'm a thread dredge !!.. but I was sitting here wondering if anyone had put up a birthday thread for me...
So imagine my surprise when I not only a birthday thread but lots of people wishing me well and to heal up quick

So thanks for that.. I did actually make it out of hospital on my birthday yah!!
Since then.. Trips to physio, trips to Doctors and trips to hospital, not to stay, but to clinics.

They are a great lot up there doing their bit to try and get you healed up best.
My right hand is in a newer cast which will remain till approx 19 nov. I have limited use of those 4 fingers and a little use of that thumb !

My left hand doesnt look so flash when they take the bandages off. Still swollen and bruised from all the broken bones inside.

I have been told that my gloves didnt stay on in my crash, but looking at my gloves now, they took a fair punishment and did a good job.
There isnt alot of injuries to my hands that I would have got away with if my gloves were still on when I stopped!

My broken ribs are coming along, but all the breaks in my shoulder arent settling or setting well. Sadly the orthopedic people only see surgery as a last resort, but tis getting close to 4 weeks and things arent sitting right causing a great deal of discomfort and pain, so will be making noises to Dr's about that today.

Over all, its one massive reality check.
I like the rest of you would plan for m/bike outings with others and go and enjoy the moments. Stop for lunch and discuss this bit of road or that corner. So how could I be now months laid up..
I have no problem in taking the blame for that, my rear tyre was past its best.. just a shame I chose to go out on it. Tis a decision that puts me where I currently am.

I will recover.. eventually, and I do hope to get another bike
Will I ride the same... I think not..
I will certainly check my tyres more often, and yes how could I not ride differently...

Perhaps I will be a slow old rider, but that is more preferable... at least Ill be on 2 wheels!!

If I had any wise words what would they be...
    Life is a gift..
