Finally upgraded from 4 wheels to 2

Hey all, got my learners about a year ago I suppose and have finally got around to buying a bike. Still a complete novice as my riding experience consists of about 100km all up now.

Living out clevedon way in Auckland so roads to ride on are a plenty all i need now is fine weather and time.

    Got a 06 VTR 250, went for a biggerish bike since i'm somewhere up near 6'3 / 6'4.

If anyone can point me in the right direction for threads for complete novices that'd be great, by complete novice i mean complete, who knew all you had to do was press the button to stop them flashing. But yeah anything on correct riding position where feet sit on pedals etc would be great, best to learn the good habits now.

Welcome from a fellow newbie. I have got a kick from just cruising through the various threads, and reading the various thoughts and opinions. The KB mentor scheme is a great idea, they seem to be living all over the place. Maybe try and connect with one near you.

    Gidday mate and welcome,

I'm a newbie since september and live out east Auckland way.

Keep an eye on these threads for great advice, the KB'rs are a real helpful bunch and you'll get some great humour as well.

Dont be afraid to post your own threads and ask questions, I had a bit of trouble with the exhaust on my VL250, I posted the query and within 24 hrs I had about a dozen replies that helped me right out.

There is also an East Auckland riders social group to check out on this website. I put my name down for that as well.

Good to hear from you mate, take care, ride safe and eat pies
