    My Buell the lemon!

    Well Ladies..chivalry is not dead
Today I went on Garry's `economy run'..and my 2008 Buell with less than 2000ks on the clock did 0.2km/tank of gas
After filling up and heading out of Ashhurst petrol station it decided to stop...I mean it just didn't want to go anymore. When the key was turned off, the instrument panel lit up, when the key was turned on, the high beam light came on Oh dear...I have definately bought a `lemon`. It had apparent `starting`problems in the shop which was supposedly fixed but a full loom replacement...then the speedo started to die, then came right, and today the whole thing died

Thanks to Garry, who pushed me to Mr and Mrs Cowboyz then gave me a lift to a local Motorbike shop. Thanks to the young chappy who came out and took it back to the shop...and a big `NO THANKS' to the local Motorbike shop who then said they can't let me have a bike to ride meanwhile because I didn't buy my bike from them I pointed out that I did buy my last new bike and 90% of my gear from them though....

I am absolutely gutted. Actually more like really really pissed off. I bought a new bike so that I would'nt have any troubles-being on my own I don't have a Mr Fix it to do those `bits n pieces`(don't particularly want one either) so needed something reliable. Tui add!!

Now...I have a wee debt to collect. One lovely man from a Wellington bike shop who sold me said Buell offered his left testicle over this bike (he doesn't know me very well-foolish man)...Pete..I'm coming to get it!!

Sorry for ruining your day Garry....

Oh dear, another sad little post from the man who thinks sarcasm is wit.

Sorry to hear it's giving you grief!

The other bad news is my left ball has been taken by the last customer I promised it to!

I'll give you a call tomorrow to see what we can do.

    Pete

Sorry to hear of your woes. I thought Buell had sorted their early issues. I'd NEVER buy a first year new Buell - it appears to take a year or two to sort them out.

Now thats a bit mean - I understand being pissed, but I think its pretty steep expecting to get a loaner from a shop you did not purchase the bike from.

Hopefully it will all be sorted very quickly.

bugga. lets hope its sorted soon.

as Allanb said, it would be a big ask to get another bike to ride while yours is getting fixed but would be bloody good tho.

i'll have to have amnesia about this (hopefully) minor glitch, gotta get me a uly one day.

if ya really want one of those lefties i'd swap mine for a Uly

I was going to wait for the 2009's but got impatient ..still love them though..great bike to ride.

Now thats a bit mean - I understand being pissed, but I think its pretty steep expecting to get a loaner from a shop you did not purchase the bike from.

But i did by my last one new off them (only a year ago too) and my gear-if they could have been more helpful initially over the Uly I would have bought from them. They loan bikes if you get a service done..I have always arranged my own transport for these and never asked...guess it was a bit steep.

Hopefully it will all be sorted very quickly.
Yea I know it isn't a big problem..just one of those tricky ones. And the Welly crew are usually tops

The XB series must be 7 years old now (I'll check that) - they are all basically the same bike with different components.

why should a shop you didnt buy a bike from supply you with a bike, while the bike you bought from another shop gets fixed

Yes you are right of course...why should they...its not like my custom is important to them-I am just a small fish.
I guess they will get no money for fixing it either? I don't know how warranty's work when you have to use a Buell Service Tech to get it fixed. I presume they must get re-embursed somehow though.

Maybe I should have paid $2k more and got it from them...we live and learn huh.
