    Eric Clapton concert

Ok guys/girls who is going to see the master in Auckland 4th March next year?

Have got my tickets and only the $399 left I think, lucky to get hold of promo code and get them Weds, they went on sale to public Friday 9.00 and by Thurs all the $99 seats were sold.If he is as good as the Mission concert he did it will be brilliant, even if we did pay trademe prices i.e $99 tickets for $225 each for the mission.

Yep we paid $450 buy now for mission tickets, some were going for $300 each, but well worth the cost in my opinion, then the cars radiator shat itself on arrival.

I bought 4 tickets(could have grabbed the max and onsell them).Think they sold max of 6-8 tickets at any one transaction.Don't have a problem with scalpers as we used trademe as above quote. So thought wtf why buy 2 tickets, get 4 incase my brother wanted 2,if not I will sell at a profit and that will pay towards flights and accomodation,as it is a Weds night.

It is a supply/demand thing. But as we live in a capitalist society all fair in competition.Know of a few people who do as I have done, buy a couple extra tickets and sell surplus, this helps cover cost of travel.End of the day if people don't want to buy tickets then it is my risk, hence not keen on grabbing say 10 tickets, that is blatent scalping, mind you if buying for $99 and selling for $250-399 not a bad earner.

There must be a huge amount of farting around to stop scalping ie cost as they seem to do it in other parts of the world effectively.
To laugh often and much; to win the respect of intelligent people and the affection of children; to earn the appreciation of honest critics and to endure the betrayal of false friends. To appreciate beauty; to find the best in others; to leave the world a bit better whether by a healthy child, a garden patch, or a redeemed social condition; to know that even one life has breathed easier because you have lived. This is to have succeeded

Hard to enforce it I would think,I could sell the tickets and get the purchaser to meet up with me,then we go in together, use my ID if needed, but then they spend shitloads on security making sure no alcohol is taken into venues,so what is another few people checking ticket ID.Or simply sell max 2 tickets at each transaction.

This is first time I have been able to grab tickets before public sale, just lucky I guess, with being on the ticketmaster email list, still needed to ring them to find the promo code.Didn't think they would release it,as thought it would be the insiders like promotors, record, radio insiders knowledge only, and they sold out before getting to the public($99 ones).

Still is a bit different to say getting tickets to the Soccer world cup,i.e the host/favourite team craps out(like NZ rugby),then all of a sudden tickets hit the market,or people buy up large and sell large.

Master? He hasn't played his guitar since Cream broke up. He's been painting by numbers ever since.
If a man is alone in the woods and there isn't a woke Hollywood around to call him racist, is he still white?

Get off the couch, gramps! After seeing him at the Mission and enjoying his session band as much as him it's definately a concert worth seeing.

None of this radio hits crap, it was a proper show from proper musicians.

Sidenote: Couldn't believe the moaning from people after The Mission, that he didn't play all the hits. It was a stunning show.

Eric Clapton played around 14 nights in London Jan/feb 1990 when I was living over there. Tickets sold out in 1/2 a day and the scalpers were selling them for 300% mark up the next day. Its a full time job for some people over there. They lost out a few months later when the Rolling Stones played. It was the same night the England football team was playing in the world cup semi final ( or similar ) and all the poms wanted to stay home and watch it. Tickets selling for a 1/3 of the original price ,$18 nz , to see the Stones live at Wembley, bargin

And the wankers bitching he never spoke, wtf I didn't/don't want to hear him speak, just play that music.

His sound live is very similar to recordings, unlike some bands who when live sound like shite.

About the only song he didn't play which I consider a hit was Tears in Heaven. All the rest Layla,Wonderfull Tonight, and the blues set was brilliant, afterall he was a blues muso.

Yeah I did want to hear that, but he rarely plays it live from what I can tell.

Loved Little Wing, Wonderful Tonight and Layla.

I'm a bogan at heart, but also a muso, that was probably my favourite concert. Not to mention being able to enjoy it with a few Sav Blancs!

Yep as I was driving kept to 4 tuis and a share of pinot gris, lady next to us had a fair whack at 12 tuis,2 bottles wine and promptly carked out at start, woke up near the end.He really let the band display their talent as well, some serious riffs as well.
