I've had my complete and utter fill of hydraulics and shit-arse disc brakes. I just wasted four or five hours today rebuilding and installing and then (fuck me) bleeding a master cylinder for the 250RS, and I'm fed up. In the wet it's feckin' useless, in the dry it squeaks and the pads wear out in no time, and every six months I have to bleed it and piss about with brake fluid. Never mind the fact all disc brakes look like arse.
So I wish to re-iterate my desire to acquire a Yamaha SR400 drum brake front end, of any year. The forks would be nice too so I don't have to have anything machined for the drum stay, and the SR400 forks are supposedly quite good in the CB250RS frame anyway. Common mod in Japan. 34mm I believe instead of 33mm, but I think they bore out the yokes 0.5mm or something.
I've listed `Auckland' as the location as it won't let me put anything else, but I'm not fussed, I'm sure I can work something out in terms of transport.

. I could upgrade to a really beefy disc, but I don't see the point. All I need is something capable of locking the front wheel; the SR400 drum will do that nicely (better than a 250RS disc, according to those who have made the change) with all the benefits of a drum brake (maintenance, feel, reliability). If it was a race bike or a GSXR then a fancy disc system would make sense but I can't think of any time where I've had to nail the brakes multiple times in succession.
