If so, please PM with the shed number, and how many of us there will be. Will pay my way, ofcourse.

    Cheers
I'll bring my generator and maybe gazebo and we can share that if you want, if no garage is available.

Sounds like a good back up if you've got the spare space. I'm sure that we will be able to get a garage though. There's heaps of them and they're only $50 each for MotoTT customers, I believe.

I'll probably get there at just before 9, and will come look for you and your Duc around then.

    Catch you there

    What an awesome day!
After some dramas with my engine at Puke a month ago I finally got it back together last sat arvo, did coro loop sunday to settle it in an put it on trailer for taupo.
What I wanted to achieve at Taupo was more corner speed..
Group 3 for the first session(previous T/D'S i was happy in 4 lol)
Did a session was rapt with how I went so decided group 2 may be in order..
Did the rest of the day in 2 an had a ball...
Well i'm heaps faster cornering now....ended up all over the arse of the thou's into and through the corners slipped back a little on the straights but if I hung in there a ususally got past if close enough.
To the guy on the Gixxer thou in the blue suzi leathers and the dude on the Yellow suzi (Bandit i think)...man did we have some fun dont know how many times we passed each other.
The guys on the ZX10 two up...that slide I did next to you,my mate caught it on video...you hide me from the camera for most of it but you get the idea....Anyone know how I can contact them?
Thanks Motott for another great day...

    yellow sv650s, that was me.

As usual, it was an excellent day, and I'm totally tired out now.
I did 727.7km total on saturday, 171.5 of them on the track, the rest to and from Auckland. On the way down I went via Matamata, on the way back through Hamilton (not SH1b) which I haven't done in ages, they were 293km and 295km respectively (Titirangi to Taupo). I'm not sure how the times compared, but I think I prefer the Hamilton route, nicer (less boring) roads.

I'd sharpened my footpegs to give me more grip and was experimenting with weighting the outside peg for the first and second sessions. At the start of the second session, before going onto the track, I realised my throttle grip had moved on the tube, since they're heated grips, I was worried about the wire interfering with the brake lever. DMNTD mentioned cable ties which I hadn't thought of, so I went back and stuck several cable ties over the grip before starting the session a bit late. It did the job for that session, but the cable ties were annoying, so at lunch I got some superglue from BP and glued the grip on with that which fixed it.
Third session instead of concentrating on which peg I was weighting, and not being distracted by cable ties on the grip, I just focused on riding. It wasn't till the 4th session that I felt like I was 'tuned in', but even then I wasn't hitting the apexes or holding my line as well as I'd like. I did a bit of work on braking later and harder. Also tried 29psi in both tyres, only had one small slip in session 2 (although it was in Turn 8! ).

I don't know how much the 29psi helped in the other corners, maybe I just wasn't giving it enough gas in the other corners to make it slip.

There was a guy on a red Aprilia RSV that seemed like he was pushing himself a bit much in the first couple of sessions at least. Twitching in the corners etc. If that's you, take it easier next time, work on riding smoother. Maybe step down a group.

Anyway, I'm looking forward to the next one.

Here's a few photos I took between yellow group sessions:

Superb riding from you once again erik.
I could see yours and others frustration with the Aprilia dude. Sounds weird but sometimes you have to slow down to ride smoother. He really was riding rough.

Look forward to the next one too.

Had a great ride down, albeit frozen hands by the time we got to taupo at 11.30 friday night lol. Ride back last night took a bit longer as we stopped in tokoroa, hamilton, narawahia & meremere, meremere just for a visor clean. Glad we took the 'muck off' visor cleaner & a flannel in my mini glove box, was handy indeed!! Headlight looks like a bug graveyard!! Awesome first 'long' ride for Fireball & myself. 570k's all up.

Great day at the track (first time I'd been back to a track since puke in march), managed to get wind & sunburnt but not bad lol

Look forward to next time might have to actually get out on the track in the slow group im thinking (esp after seeing the scooters out there lol!!)
