Dont worry about the groups....I doubt any of us are that fast plus SMC's riders tend to have stops every 5 mins to regroup You will be fine most riders will be riding between 100-110 max.

And what bitches?! I'll waste you on the corners G, if you're not scraping the exhaust on the coro loop you're not trying hard enough..
LOL it works for you that scraping stuff.

If I be scraping exhaust, something has gone horibly wrong

Can we stop calling it fast, most of you are slow anyway
Call it lead and tail, or 1 and 2... When i run them you get 1, and you get 2, 2 does usually contain me and the newer riders... we go at a more cruisy pace (that all are comfortable with, we increase the pace if they're happy to), if someone in 2 wants to venture out they go ahead of me (We all know where we are heading, so nobody gets lost), and they'll find group 1... likewise if someone from 1 drops off from the pace, they wont be forgotten, they'll end up in 2

    Everybody's happy

just another note, ive noticed in some of the other rides that riders near the front of a pack often just pull over for no apparent reason, usually to wait for a particular person to catch up or what not.....can we please NOT do this on this ride??

not only does it waste a shitload of time, it also causes confusion for the other riders who don't know whether the person pulled over is in trouble or is the lead rider or wtf to do.....if you're going to pull over for a stupid reason or want to ride with someone then wait for a group stop and take off together....if you have a cramp or are genuinely in trouble, then pull over as soon as it is safe to do so and either wave the others on or flag them down if needed

Yep main slogan is "Ride at your own pace"... If someone behind wants to go faster then they can pass ya, if someone behind wants to go slower then they can go slower. If someone's riding like an idiot then they can be sent home

Im thinking a coro loop starting around 9-9.30ish from uni ending at my place for a barbie. There is plenty of parking space at and around my place for both cars and bikes so if you cant make the ride, you're welcome to come to the barbie.

I will have some saussies and beers but would be helpful if people brought some to share around (maybe stevo could raid the community fridge again )

as it is still a little while away, I will update more info as the date nears.

this is an open invite (as it was last time) and does not only apply to SMC'ers so come one, come all

0oooh and it would be good if people could let me know if they are coming so can gauge numbers for saussies, beers etc. (and so i can tell my parents we are expecting guests ) PLEASE POLL UP OR PM ME (preferrably the polls)

right well i will try to get the day off work, just wasn't sure from the tone of the thread whether it was ok with everyone, but now appears you are all far more relaxed than it came across
Good luck with exams, and see you afterwards hopefully

Lol yeah honestly! We're definitely not the Serious Motorcycle Club!

On a group ride some people say that you should just ride by yourself and then it's just great that when ya stop all your mates are there. But you shouldn't exactly be "riding with your mates".

I reckon for inexperienced riders it can be good to follow a more experienced person to show them lines and also entrance speeds (given that the experienced person knows that the newbie is following and rides accordingly).
It gives the newbie a bit more confidence when approaching the corner because they can be sure that the corner can easily be done at that speed (given of course still that the lead person is riding appropriately).

That said, for a long ride like the coro loop I would think it best that everyone can judge their own entrance speeds and be comfortable doing so and not relying on the person in front, again the story of riding your own ride.
