Thats awesome! Which reminds me of a guy who started building a car by the kitchen and end up stuck inside his house (was featured on Top Gear I think)

    Very awesome!

If you can make it on Kiwibiker you can make it anywhere.

There's a guy in Ashburton who's building a full size Spitfire replica in his lounge. He can't fit the wings & tail till they drag it outside though.

Replica is cool when you do it like this chap

    http://www.fineartmodels.com/pages/p...oduct_area=139

Mostly self taught, built everything on it including things like valve springs, an addiction a passion!

wrt the spitfire, I would love to build a modern one using some CF/modern materials to get the look with some more performance.......

That's pretty cool, also love the 'thunder' mustang as well.

A young'n like myself didn't realize how big real P-51's/Spitfire's etc actually are.

It's better to not pass and know that you could have than to pass and find out that you can't. Wait for the straight.

I had better add that the Spitfire in Ashburton isn't being built to fly, although it sure looks like it could. The guy just wants to be able to putt around a paddock, giving his grandchildren rides etc.
I will post some pics when it's ready.
