    Smile Please Help I need a headlight for a GSXR 600 k1

Hi and thank you for viewing this.

I have just bought into NZ my GSXR 600 K1 and to get it VIN'd I may need a headlight for it as mine dips the wrong way.

Would any of you kind Kiwi Bikers be able to help if this proves to be a problem? Either with a pointer of where I can get one or if you or someone you know is selling one. This would be very much appriciated as I am sure you are all aware of how much these things are new!!!!!!!

All the best and thanks for taking the time to read this.

    Happy Biking

    You could......

Try asking some race boys that race a K1,2,3 gixxer, i imagine there isn't a hell of lot of difference between the 600/750/1000, and see if you can "borrow" their headlight for a bit while they are not using it to get it vin'd, Then suss your one out later. Just a thought at no cost to get your vin, well maybe a doz beer....

Good luck, and nice bike btw.

I may be barking up the wrong tree here, but on our bikes (which are admittedley a lot older), to reverse the dip/fullbeam, the wires that plug into the light itself need to be reversed, maybe talk to a sparky before trying to get a new light, or do it yourself and see.

Toads- it dips for lefthand drive
I had to convert a US BMW h/light, and it was just a matter of the headlight swap to dipping left for NZ, plug was the same. I'm sure all the bike companies make it interchangable because the dip is the only difference between LHD and RHD bikes.

So are you saying that he might be able to dismantle his headlight unit & adjust it permanently???

Try Gary at GP Trading in Mt Maunganui. He's a bike wrecker. http://www.gpmotorcycles.co.nz

    Smile Thank you

    Hi Guys and Girl!!

Thank you for all your help and advice.

The story so far is that none of the modifications suggested can be done due to the way Suzuki make them. So it is down to finding the cheapest best quality one I can find. I would personally like to give my money to a racer if there are any out there with one they would like to sell. I used to pit for a couple of friends in the UK and know how much it costs to race!!!

So if there are any racers out there or anyone that knows a racer that has a NZ headlight for a GSXR 600 K1 I would be very grateful if you could contact me.

Mr White Trash!! has been very helpful and may have contacted some of you re my situation.

Once again Thank you very much to all of you that replied. Hopefully I will get to meet you all at some point once on the road.

    Kindest Regards

    Gary

A big Thank you to Marty at typeface for sponsoring me to have a go in my first race
