That list is from the well known right wing site site kiwiblog that will do anything to bash the left wing including distort the truth.
I would argue that this "ban" list should be taken with a grain of salt. Why? Well from the first banned item to be looked into "BAN LANDFILLS", turned out to be a more palatable "phasing out of landfills" - hardly likely landfills would be gone unless we had another means of disposal. Good example of the one-sided war of kiwiblog versus truth.
All I can see on the list is ban semi-automatic weapons. They also want to ban guns as well, so any hunters out there, enjoy it while you can.
Because when we get sick of the greens, they want to make sure we don't have too many weapons lying around.
The banning of fuel guzzling SUVs (Hooray!!) is a short step to banning any motorcycle with an engine bigger than 500cc (Boo!!).
I'd like to see a congestion charge to get big vehicles (mainly SUVs) off the motorways (especially in peak time), i.e.
Bike/Scooter: Free
Car: $3/trip (exc couriers)
Van/SUV: $5/trip
your an idiot, a suv doesn't take up much more room length and width wise that a car or a van. taxing them is going to solve nothing. all you are going to do it tax farmers and large families. smart.
Banning semi auto guns, because a lever action isn't just as fast aye? moronic comment from a moronic person. But semis are really bad because they are used in crime. Yes NZ has a very large amount of semi automatic gun crime. Oh wait no it doesn't.
At the end of the day it doesn't matter what the action is, when its pointed at you dose it.
Not even taking into consideration the 100's of thousands of semi autos in NZ, what about 10's of thousands of fully automatic wepons in nz? Better ban those too aye. Oh yeah pistols, we dont have strong enough laws on those - better ban them. Damn, better ban the ammo and knifes too. Shit better ban the home loaders from making there own ammo!
After all that banning, whats the result going to be? well all the criminals i know are stand up guys so if the law says they cant own a gun, they will comply with the law - they are only into murder and theft aye not gun crime!
Man i love it when everyone is treated like a criminal. especially when its not going to change a damn thing.
Heck, lets ban all firearms in NZ all 2 million of them. (conservative guess)
Then I could get a Kb Tshirt, move to Timaru and become a full time crossdressing faggot
Yeah, whatever. The "other KB" is the No 1 political blog in the country because it provides the most intelligent and accurate information and discussion. It's is frankly, the only blog that is ever prepared to give credit to "the other side".
Anyhoo, the list is what might be termed a charicature - a humerous exaggeration to underline a basic truth. Your point above might have more credibility if the source had been Whaleoil.
In summary: Don't vote for the Watermelons.![]()
Yeah, but if they were the government you would also get the 20% that is outright fuckin' stupid!
A lot of what's on the list is bad stuff that sensible people would try to avoid/cut down/whatever, but do we need the nanny state to ban it?
There is plenty of stuff I have no problem with, but:
I think consumers should be able to decide if they are comfortable with eating GE food or not - there is absolutely NO evidence of any danger (well, no more danger than non GE foods) for the commercially available GE foods.
I think consumers should be able to decide if they want to eat junk food, I don't believe eating high fat KFC once every 3 months or so will hurt me.
I also think we should consider nuclear power as it is environmentally friendly and produces much more power than solar or wind.
There - that should upset the hippies!
Im certainly not going to vote for the fuckers but there are a few points I agree with.

Life would be so much easier if you addressed questions with a simple answer.
I think all that needs to be told to people is this fact right here
Why on earth would they oppose increasing the max prison sentence for child porn?? I cannot understand why anyone with a level head would vote for them. All of the people that do are just voting for the name of the party and the logo, nothing to do with policy. How on earth do you get through to someone like that??I see the Greens won some advertising accolade over the weekend for their billboards. As a mother that they should be allowed to prostitute images of children to further their own political aims in this way makes me completely sick.
This is the Greens real voting record on issues that directly effect NZ’s children.
2003: P (Methamphetamine) reclassified as a Class A drug – only the Greens opposed
2006: Opposed an increase to the Drinking Age
2005: Intentional Possession of Child Pornography -Only the Greens opposed the maximum penalty being 5 years – wanted it lower at 2 years
2007: Want to decriminalise Marijuana
SOFT ON THE REAL CAUSES OF CHILD ABUSE YET THEY WANT TO CRIMINALISE PARENTS WHO GIVE THEIR KIDS A SMACK
The Greens are absolute hypocrites because if they weren’t they would also oppose abortion on the same grounds they oppose smacking
“Any country that accepts abortion is not teaching its people to love, but to use any violence to get what they want. . . . the greatest destroyer of peace today is abortion, because it is a war against the child, a direct killing of the innocent child . . . it portrays the child as, an intrusion and an inconvenience ”
