    My new-to-me scooter

    Got one of these recently

Still restricted, so I need to search for the CDI this weekend. Tops out at 58kph at present

Sweet. 58km/h is pretty good to start off with for a 50cc. Would smoke some other stock scooters.

Not bad for stock standard... I was informed that you just had to cut a wire to derestrict the Hyosung scooters... maybe that was there older models

    .

I'm guessing you mean find the CDI to derestrict it? It's behind the headlight, www.korider.com has plenty of info, and step by step guides. Has it had the variator washer removed? Plus the spacer between carb and block, then rejetted? These mods can lead to a comfortable 70km/h +

I took one of those for a strop, quite liked it; the front end feels so much more secure than those Arrow 50s. Might just be a weight thing.

Going to get it on the dyno?

Found the CDI, and now it gets up to 67ish, although not super quick from 58-67, but definitely better. Took half an hour and time well spent.
I haven't pulled the variator yet, or the carb and rejetting - that is a job for the future to check.

Might dyno it - one problem with scooters is the reading is a bit rubbish, as the gearing isn't fixed. I plan on putting the FA50 on over Xmas which is single speed so ok. I will also put my 10speed on th edyno for comparison...

Anyone keen on a dyno day?

Could be, but won't be until the project is at the going together & running stage. Currently at the preparing for paint stage.

On the serious side, maybe next month...? http://www.rrpowersports.co.nz/

Wow, half an hour to get from 58-67?
