    Bike mechanics

Hopefully this is the right place to post this question, move as you wish SpankMe.

I am after essentially a very detailed book on motorcycle mechanics.

I have only been riding for about a year and really know very little about the whole "up and down makes it go round and round" thing but want to learn as much as I can. Maybe it's the geek or the scientist in me but I just want to understand it all.

Now I know all bikes are not created equal but surely there must be something out there. Trademe has zip but CHCH library does have one book which looks promising, doesn't really help if I want a copy at home though.

Anyone out there have something like this or ideas where to get it would be much appreciated.

I'm sure it'll be obvious soon, but what's a TEC?

    Try TechBooks in Newmarket, auckland.
    HTML Code:
    http://www.techbooks.co.nz/
You can buy online & they will courier it to you. I've used them a few time for rare haynes manuals, really good. I did a search on 'motorcycle' on their website, and got 249 matches, from Fine Art of the Motorcycle Engine to Complete Idiots Guide to Motorcycles, depending on your skill level of course
I figure car drivers must be Apes. All they do is sit in cages all day & grunt

    Cheers guys,

Grabbed "The complete guide to Motorcycle Mechanics" from the library. Also checked out that Techbooks site but they didn't have it so now it's on the slow boat from USA.

Thought I'd try and zap it into a pdf for anyone else that wants a read.

    Cheers
    Steve

The Hayne's range of motorcycle maintenance manuals is pretty good; from general basic maintenance manuals through to more specialised; motorcycle electrical and fuel system manuals. They usually cost around $60 each. Otherwise try Trade Me where you could get lucky.
