I liked that flag you guys used to have. A shame you ditched the `sun rays', why was that? Less imperial influence or something?

That flag was just for the army I believe?
They ditched it after ww2 for obvious reasons.
I think they just have a defense force now?

    Modern self-defense force flag:

    Current (and old) naval ensign:

Old (unused) flag of Imperial Japanese Army:

I dig the sun-ray ones; hell, the standard accepted modern Japanese flag (just the red sun disc) was all that was used in the airforce during WWII, and nobody whinges about that one (well a few do in Japan apparently). The Christchurch Japanese Classic Motorcycle group has a logo based on the sun ray design.

I reckon an old CR750 or 60s GP-style flat-fairing bike would look great in all white, with a red sun disc on the side. Mebbe a red/white two-tone tank as well? Honda's 1960s F1 cars were done like that.

Well you have to admit that a red dot on the side of a plane is a lot easier to paint.

Sun-ray ones cooler! But then yea for obvious reasons. Plus disc is lot simple haha
