Gran turismo 4 + steering wheel ...help.

Hey guys, err tried hooking up the madcatz steering wheel to the playstation 2....

doesn't light up or anything (used to on my xbox)

It is for xbox playstation 2 and PC...

It used to have an adapter to go from xbox connector to USB, does it have to have this to work on a playstation 2 ( i lost the adapter )

or is there some silly setting im missing, it is a madcatz mc2.

Well what port are you plugging it in to?

At a guess, I'd say it needs some kind of power to make it go. USB carries 5v phanthom power. If you're using, say a playstation plug it might not have enough juice to go.

    Meh - I dunno.

Find the adapter mate. Nah - forget that. Go finish your Katana.
And I to my motorcycle parked like the soul of the junkyard. Restored, a bicycle fleshed with power, and tore off. Up Highway 106 continually drunk on the wind in my mouth. Wringing the handlebar for speed, wild to be wreckage forever.

I picked one of those up cheap a few years back... piece of crap it was, good for bugger all. Never did get it to work with the PS2

The a Microsoft Forcefeed Back one, that worked pretty good. So then I added a Logitech G15 to the collection... next best thing to a real car, and PS3 compatible. FWIW.

I have one of these. It's very good and worth every penny if you're into driving games. Play "Grid" on a grunty machine (or PS3).

More usefully: mine wakes up when plugged into a PC. It does the calibrating thing. Try it attached to that. Oh, and a force feedback steering wheel will almost certainly need an external supply of some description.

Right. Might have to have a go now.

Heh, that's the one! Not sure why I called it a G15... that's a damn keyboard!

They're lovely though aren't they Once you've had leather, you'll never want another wheel again!

Did you have the USB adapter that links onto the xbox plug?

I'm thinking maybe i need to find that and hook up both? (use the playstation plug and run the USB line as well) , would have to find it tho.
