If you see a black ZZR250 on SH1

... on the way into Wellington CBD from Whitby, that's me - new to bike riding in NZ, and off the saddle since a GS1000 in the eighties. It's really mostly a commute thing now, but what a pleasure anyway! Regards, Dan Bishop ps I had better look out for that new CBR600RR in Porirua, nice

    woo hoo

I'm not seeing many of you - an FZR (my first choice of bike) pulled up alongside briefly at Mana, but that's been it in the area. BUT I have had my Zimbabwe bike licence accepted at last, and for a FULL licence. So now trading this ZZR250 already for a bigger CBR or FZR. But this 250 does go... my goodness! Just the frame a fraction too small for my (older) frame

Welcome Metagoo the ZZR is a great 250 and yes the modern 250's are vastly different to the old stuff of the 70's and 80's. getting your 'riding legs' back on the 250's a good move, The CB600 will be quicker than the old GS100 you had. And the brakes work......

Depends what you call Whitby.... As far as the council is concerned my street is in Whitby, despite having to drive through Ascott Park to get there. NZ Post class me as being in Waitangirua, again you need to go through Ascott Park to get there. So my house is not in the 'rich' 'flash' 'ponsy' whatever you wanna call it part of Whitby.

Do you still have to lock the car doors driving through Porirua.

Felt safe there I even spent a time working at Todd moters when that was going lol.

the black ZZR is gone, now I'm on a RVF (NC-35). Nice to see so many local bikes out and on the road, though I guess the weather has a big part in that!
