    Viewing/saving videos

I am on pretty slow (30-40kb/s) dialup, so it takes me an HOUR to get a peek at a 3 or 4 minute video. There are some really neat ones posted by fellow members, and I wonder if there is a way for me to save them to watch again after all the time I've spent getting them?

I've tried adding to "favourites", but because of the long down load time I am always logged out of KB and once I log back in, the video is gone.

So, any chance that I can do this? Could someone tell me how?

    Thanks.

Most of them are YouTube so shouldn't be too hard to download. There's a number of plugins for Firefox. Here's a couple to get you started:

    https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/3590
    https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/2390

Are you still on dialup by choice? Broadband is getting pretty affordable these days.

Thanks for that. I live in a pretty remote rural valley-gravel road and all- so my options are severely restricted. I really only use the internet for kb, emails, and occasionally looking something up. So would rather save my money for fuel for the bike instead of surfing the web.

I use http://www.sacarvideos.com/ to save videos off YT.
Just type in the exact same title of the video, and it will save them in FLP or MP4 (ipod) to your computer. Its very simple.

Thanks, Quailboy. I'm glad to hear it is simple. I hesitate to admit this, but I have never even been to YouTube. I really must broaden my horizons a little!

Wow. That's like saying you have never Googled. But fair enough on dial-up. I wouldn't go there either without broadband. Probably a good thing cause if I never went onto You Tube I would never get "how to" lessons in wheelies, stoppies, burnouts etc...

Very useful, handles a lot of sites
