I've just seen the weather report for tomorrow, and I'm 99% certain I'll be there too.

So what's the weather doing in Aucks?

Whangaparoa is pretty clouded over, by the looks it'll clear up about midday-ish like yesterday.

Oh well, I'll still venture out. Who needs defensive driving courses when you can just drive around Auckland for a day!

bugger, its raining lightly on the North Shore and my uncle in Pukekohe tells me its wet there too, and doesn't look like clearing

if you believed the SKY weather channel's rain radar we would have clear blue skies!

oh well, its still early in the day.

Don't like the look of that, looks like it might be in for the whole day.

...and the rain came tumbling down. BAD day for fanging on the track (unless you're mitch or dave (or of similar ilk) and have no fear of reduced traction!)

Yep, I didn't even get to leave here.

I'm stuck in Whangaparoa until the weather dies down, so I can make the slow journey home again

I'm sorry we missed you then.

I made it up from Hamilton and we watched some of the lads get out on the track. Bluninja managed to stay upright on brand, spanking new, hand-cut slicks.

Had to leave because I had work at 3, but it was nice to see some of the lads again.

Also good to see another girlie biker (also from Hamilton) show up.

OK guys the KK rundown... firstly Slim and Firefight came to watch, cheers guys.. was really wet/spitting for first 3 sessions, gave me some good rain skills and i slipped once on white paint on hairpin, and rear wheel a tiny bit coming onto front straight... Died up really well for last 3 odd sessions esp last 2 and me and Si were running around the same pace and really having fun as we tossed and turned about place during the sessions. (thanks Si! and for the dinner!)

Unfortuantly HO-Hoon came off and went into the armco, my mate watched but had his gob open so did not get the pic! muddy as but unhurt (yet mate said he herd the bang of the bike and hoon from on the left hander) and that was about the 2nd session where another kid came off only 2 odd laps before HO-Hoon (shit mate, yellow flags, do you not slow down for them etc? i was like, shit, sombody else fell off, im gunna go easy!) i lent him the front of the van to lean his damaged bike against whilst he went out and got bits to replace to get out once in the last session.

All in all a f-ing awesome day which i learnt HEAPS in and Hoon, Si and I all got to walk the track before hand... must say my new tyres are GREAT and im loving my VFR400 -which when my skinny ass body is tucked under fairing properly and i slip stream the SV650 properly ends up just beating the SV from a bike length or 2 behind coming onto backstraight -the VFR getsto about 14,000rpm running 91oct (much better then the BP Ultimate 98oct) which is an approximated 215-220kmph nearing the end of the backstraight.   only things im keen on working on during racing next weekend are braking far later for the hairpin, which Si i realised as Si was breaking like waaaaayyyy later then me /me feels like a newbie about that.

will post pics but first my developed Tracktime ones are on their way. (haha got one of hoons muddy bike.) pitty you didnt make it mitch, this is it, the KB Formula 3 race events-within events... i reckon we need a placing table etc and all

Yeah I had a mixed day.  Very happy my carbs new tubes and needles have increased my mid range performance plus now I'm getting into 6th gear at the elbow whereas before I'd still be at the top of 5th when I got to the hairpin (must be good for another 10-20 kph!).

Annoyed I came off on the last lap of the 2nd session getting too keen with my new found increase before it dried out fully.  The rear slid out at approx 130kph just as I was tipping to full lean appexing the last sweeper and it was all over.  I went for a nice slide head first into the concrete wall and fortunately scrubbed off 90% of my speed before I hit it (see attached pic, those white line are my fairings/pegs).  The bike faired pretty well, only needing a paddock stand bobin, brake lever and 3 cable ties for the right side fairing to make it back for the last session but long term I need to glass up my fairing mounts, replace my cracked screen and half a foot peg as well.

Walking the track in the morning was time well spent!  I picked up on a lot of useful reference points which you don't notice at race speed and now I'm more consistent/confident with turn 2 and the hairpin.  I even went for another walk at the end of the day and left with a total of 115 pics of the track from my 2 walks.

But yep its shaping up to be a good race next weekend.  Blu is looking quick and confident with his new cut slicks (gotta get me some of them!) and KK is right up there with the pace now too!

Fantastic day. I really enjoyed myself, and am starting to get on the pace a bit. Still a lot of work to do at the left before castrol, and castrol itself....plus the hairpin. I know I can go faster through the twisty bits....but I'm not allowed to fall off in practice. The straight is a different matter. Can't go any faster without, more power of a fairing...though I could reach top speed sooner.

Only managed 170 kms on the track yesterday...had to come in early twice...once to get help for the crashed lad with the hurt ankle....and once to get a new peg on my gear lever (fell off as I went up a gear on the start finish straight)

Can't wait till next week and real racing.

I did make it there... at about 3PM.

saw a ZX something (was a green machine) that let out a whistle when deaccellerating on the front straight, very weird
