Can I suggest "The Flying Moa' which is (almost... coupla hundred M South) across the road from PlaceMakers on Lunn Ave.

Big pub type place and lots of parking :-)

    Cheers

Hmmm ...when I lived down there (yes its a lot of years ago) opposite where PlaceMakers is was just a Quarry us kids used to play in.

    Could be a better option.

Yeah the development of the quarry has commenced. Restaurants and other retail all over the place now. I have added a map to my post with the route and the loc of the flying Moa to give you an idea of where it is.

    Cheers

    Photographer

I have a Photographer lined up for tomorrow, a lovely KBer has said yes to take photos. Brett done a wonderful job at Zukins (Scotts) funeral and I am sure Nordy will her best to return the favour. I might ask her to stand on the roundabout at the top of Lunn Ave/College rd to capture to moment.

Kari and I arrived back in Auckland about 7:30pm. We waited at the airport to see Grub off the plane.

The Auckland service has been organised by his mother. The crematorium does not do transfers, so another undertaker has to come to pick him up and deliver him to Purewa. There is no way that any kind of procession could be organised, he will be at Purewa, his casket already sitting in the chapel.

This is how Grubs mother wanted it done.

See you all at Placemakers tomorrow, I am off to bed.

You know .. when I tell people that my Grub is special they can now remember that he will be one of a select group of people to have not one but two funerals to ensure that the send-off is truely appropriate and completed. I look forward (and that really doesn't sound right) to meeting you all today, even in these circumstances .. and thank those of you who are able to come and support myself, grubs family, and my family in this his final farewell ...

Mom .. he loved the last stand .. maybe we should have made some old men cry!

Sorry if this is a silly question, but I'll be wearing full bike gear when I arrive *coming from a while off not from my house down the road*, is that okay? I don't wanna ruin anything by standing in bike gear looking like a twat.

No mate you will be sweet! Grub has his bike boots on, his KB T-shirt with him. You will be in good company wearing your bike gear!
