Grub sure went out in style - deepest respect and admiration to you Kari, your strength, acceptance and courage is an inspiration to us all. (I dusted my bike). It was an awesome experience to be part of the ride to the airport. Bikes for miles.

In one of the above pictures there are bikes lined up and a sign above it saying "The Healthiest Sport". Did anyone else notice this?? Bit ironic but you have to see the humour in it.

An awesome send off for a great guy.

I am home safe and sound.

It has been a rare privilege to be able to spend these past 5 days with Kari to help her through. To all of you that came to the house during the week, for all the messages of love and support, for coming along today to help celebrate the life of Grub, THANK YOU!

I have met so many wonderful people this week. I am struggling to remember my own name at the moment, let alone all I have met.

Thank you for all your hugs today, it certainly helped.

I feel very priviliged to have been there today. What a great turnout. Like others have said Kari was truly inspirational. Well done to all those who provided close support to Kari over the past days and also to those who played various parts in making this such a memorable occasion today. Made me feel very proud to be part of our "biker" community.

Very well done everyone who supported Kari over the last few days and those who helped organise a most appropriate tribute.

I was there in spirit and kept an eye on the clock so I could remember all the good things I could think of about Grub a times when everyone else would have been doing the same.

One of the most frusrating things for me is that I met so many people at the Sand-bar that night I was up your way I can't recall if I really met Grub - and what he looked like.

I feel priviliged to have taken part in todays sendoff for Brett. Kari, you were amazing. It was a great service. Farewell Grub.

There were over 80 bikes following the hearse to the airport. The entourage spanned the length of the Linden straight.

The service was a great celebration of Grub's life. The celebrant did an outstanding job, as did everybody who made tribute. Kari's comments were inspiring.

Photos were taken, but not by me. I imagine these will be posted in due course.

Grub has touched many lives in a positive way. Today's turnout and the contributions online are testament to that.

More applause !!!! How many services do you go to (too many) where you have a lump in ya throat and want to stand up and cheer in a space of minutes ?

Kari is an inspiring person, and I dont mean that lightly, you are awesome chick.

very true. goes to show there is always so much more to people then meets the eye. i feel like a bit of a fraud posting here as i didnt know Grub that well, about 4 - 5 rides i think but i can honestly say after learning more about him today the world is worse off for not having him in it.

And you are not alone in missing out !

Don't be daft - how much do we really know about people? How much do we need to know before we like them?? Pfft - I fell in love with Vicki the second I saw her and we have been together 30 years. When its all said and done, all you can aspire to is a great send off - brett managed that and the worlds better off for him having been here!

Was a day of both happiness and sadness ! I hate funerals !!! Make me want to cry !
Can't say i knew Brett long enough, but know that online the cheeky prick would come out with sommit like "cryings good, keeps the tear ducts workin, who knows when ya might get a bug in the eye !"
Today was a cellibration of Grubs life and i'm happy !
