Hi Dave, it is easier if you take the second left as it brings you straight there.

(see my suggestion in the previous post).
I'm only wearing black until they develop something darker

Two things - one is that Kari's is in "proper" suburbia and the nice people of Whitby will probably not take too well to a hundred bikes showing up. A few, sure, but 'all of us' might be pushing it a little - hence the plan of going straight to the church.

Also the 'down SH1' crew is being organised by Chanceyy on this thread - I'd say PM her and say "Hi" if you were wanting to join that ride.

Mstrs and I will be there, will prolly go straight to Karis.
Black armbands are totally appropriate, (if Kari wants).

Thanks for doing this, it looks like it will be a big group

Kari said forget the suburbia thing, Brett was a biker and lived here for a long time, bikes are fine, lots of them no problem

The other thing too, Kari says, you guys lead the hearse, that way there is no co-ordinating to do. Big stream of bikes front and back of hearse will look so cool!

mine are already down and will stay that way for a while.

i will be coming down, susan will be in the cage as she hates being on the bike for that long. we will both be in the procession on the bike.
i was thinking yellow armbands, as yellow is the color i associate with him. [bumble bee bike and codura.]
i will go to karis if i can and go from there. are flowers/donation/plate of food etc requested/wanted? id like to bring something, but not sure what.

i was thinking of getting on the tail end and having susan film the ride, but not sure if thats appropriate or not.

edit... does anyone have a spare bed in whitby area? i dont think ill make it home before dark and i hate riding at night on the open road. thanks in advance!

Kari has asked for donations to the Wellington Free Ambulance if people would like to do something. Filming the ride would be more than awesome!

Yeah I agree Dave. I lived in Whitby so know what your talking about. Also Kari and Brett's place is directly across the road from a Primary School so noise pollution also not a good idea. - Although Kari has already made the call on this one.

The suggestion was more about someone who knew the route to Kari's/the church lead the way for those that are coming from further away and may not know the area.

Unless someone from Kapiti or further north want someone to follow, I will probably head over Haywards to the duck pond. Again, if the rapa crew or further north on that side want someone to follow to the duck pond, I am happy to oblige. (it just saves having to follow a map).

We know where to go. Can perhaps get together with 'rapa folks and group over the hill etc....
Do you realise how many holes there could be if people would just take the time to take the dirt out of them?

Cheers Hawkeye .. I know the way to Kari's really well so will bring the northern crew down SH 1

Prob will not go to kari's prior (depends on what everyone wants to do) limted parking for the bikes & kindy across the road could make things a really tight squeeze

Kari has been up and talked to the Kindy, they are all sweet with lots of bikes. One o'clock is not going to interfere with anything up here at the top of the road. The neighbours are all aware of what has happened, it really wont be a problem coming up to the house.

My bike will be in the shop. I'll be at the duck pond if it's finished with or I can get a loaner.
