There were over 80 bikes following the hearse to the airport. The entourage spanned the length of the Linden straight.

The service was a great celebration of Grub's life. The celebrant did an outstanding job, as did everybody who made tribute. Kari's comments were inspiring.

Photos were taken, but not by me. I imagine these will be posted in due course.

Grub has touched many lives in a positive way. Today's turnout and the contributions online are testament to that.

I was onboard the back of a ZX9R so I took some pics and movies.
The movies are not bad but lots of wind noise so I'm going to combine them all into one movie and dub a song over it,..perhaps "Dust in the wind" ?

Here's the pics. Excuse the quality, it's hard to take pics when you're getting bounced around !!!

    Rest in Peace, Grub/Brett..

It was a lovely day, and to see all you guys and gals escorting Brett to the church and to the airport put a lump in my throat. Kari is an inspiring person, and I dont mean that lightly, you are awesome chick. What an amazing celebration of Brett's life it was and I am so happy I was there to say goodbye.

Thanks to those who offered me a pillion, I wish I could have taken you up on the offer but I had to get home to my little boy.

Kari - wow - what can i say, that was a brave, and classy act mate and worthy of brett. I was just so impressed and proud for you. WELL DONE!!

Great send off ride folks - lets not do it again soon eh?

very true. goes to show there is always so much more to people then meets the eye. i feel like a bit of a fraud posting here as i didnt know Grub that well, about 4 - 5 rides i think but i can honestly say after learning more about him today the world is worse off for not having him in it.

Don't be daft - how much do we really know about people? How much do we need to know before we like them?? Pfft - I fell in love with Vicki the second I saw her and we have been together 30 years. When its all said and done, all you can aspire to is a great send off - brett managed that and the worlds better off for him having been here!

One of the most frusrating things for me is that I met so many people at the Sand-bar that night I was up your way I can't recall if I really met Grub - and what he looked like.

    Gargh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Sels1?? Riffer? anybody help??

But anyway, he'd have been chuffed to have been held in such high regard.

Was an awesome sight to see that huge long line of bikes stretching round the inlet and down the motorway I reckon there were more bikes there today than what there was at the Welly cheesecutter ride...though my view was somewhat different this time round so I may be completely wrong...but anywhooo

Always great to catch up in person with some of you mad KBers but as someone said earlier - lets not do this again for a very very long time eh...Be careful out there everyone

I hope the weather man is kind again tomorrow in Auckland and I know that it was a huge buzz for the whanau to see so many bikers turn out to support Kari and pay their respects to Grub...do your thing AKL

Top bloke, very fitting farewell - RIP and know that we will be looking out for your Kari.

Nah that is my MUCH fatter twin sister Pity there wasn't any censorship going on with the number plates Nudey - how am I supposed to maintain some mystery?!

Actually that's the only pic I have of me riding my big girls bike..I look funny

BTW Maha - give that lady of yours another big hug from us Monsters and have one yourself too for sharing her with Kari this week. She has been wonderful support (not just for Kari) and I know she is very very tired and has missed you heaps. I think she might even deserve a super long foot rub!
