I will be manning a check point somewhere along the way though.

Only another 600kms an the weather will be crap, but we know your tuff.
    See ya' there????
Riding for 16.5 hours, you could easily do the 1600kms... Hopefully it isn't anytime soon though. It's a beautiful day outside now, and all I want to do is sit on the pc, infront of the telly or in bed (the last two are in the same place haha)

What sort of stops do you have on the Rusty Nuts? Is it continous riding apart from fuel?
I seriously had a thought of a 24 hour ride "challenge". When I got home last night, I seriously could have ridden for more. I was a little sore, but nothing major. The tiredness really set in when I got inside and sat on my bed. I had planned to set the vcr, but woke up later in the morning still with the tv guide in my hand...

Nice write up dude, sounds like it was a excellent ride. Shame about the donation, but I hear they are very needy.

When I did it,it took me 19.5 hours each time, and so long as you do it within the 24 hours you can ride and stop as often as you like so long as you do the correct route and do the checkpoints

    Story well told. Thank you.

Only one point of clarification, from Pongaroa did you come back out to SH2 at Dannevirke or did you do the REAL ride (past Mrs H's corner) through Wimbledon and Porangahau to Waipukurau?

If you want to repeat this ride at night sometime and need some company, please give me a call!

    .

Good write-up, I'd wondered how you guys were going. You probably had slightly cooler weather than we did, from the forecast H/Bay was about 28 compared to Palmerston/Wanganui's 30.....

The extra breeze is certainly nice in this weather...

Great going and nice write-up. Great that different groups of people were out for long rides this weekend. Sorry to hear about your donation to charity - full marks for the photo!!! We only saw 2 cops on our 750 km run - abnormally quiet.

    Cheers
