    I'm keen.

I want to see first hand just how slow Carver really is.

Do you mean riding speed or mental capacity?

I can judge the latter from what he writes on here.

    The weather is looking good.

Ok, weather looks spot on. Looks like Sidewinder who organised the ride won't be able to make it Not sure if Carver is taking on the role as organiser or not but if not....

Direction around etc will be discussed on the day for obvious reasons.
I'll be at Papakura Autobahn on the southern motorway at around 8.45 leaving 9.00 sharp and again route to Kopu will be discussed there.

Should be a cracker of a day.

Observe: there will be a plane or planes in the sky watching traffic and radioing ahead, increased presence on all roads and perhaps random stop points so it will be a mediumish run and speeds will have to be watched. I don't particularly want to spend the rest of summer walking.

    Normal rules apply:
1.The person in front owns the road so if and when you overtake, do so safely.

    2. No undertaking at any time i.e. passing on the inside of other riders unless they have made it quite clear to you that it is safe to do so and they know you are doing so.

    3. If and when you overtake a car or other rider make sure that you check behind you first to ensure no one else is already overtaking.

    4. Don't try to be a normal Kiwi by upping your normal pace to stay with a quicker rider. Ride to your own ability envelope. We want to avoid bins.

    5. Enjoy yourself, have enough to eat and keep your fluids up (water) to stop dehydration.
If the destination is more important than the journey you aint a biker.

its tricky to hold it cause your hitting all the bumps on one wheel

Yep nice day ahead tomorrow. Great chance for a good number to get out and have a decent ride.

Wise words Beyond. I doubt any of us can afford to lose licences or need the extra bills care of the 5.0. at Christmas.

I agree about avoiding bins - those rubbish-bins are more solid than they look! Someone could really hurt themselves if you hit one of those.

OKAY RIDERS -who else is going to keep me company at the back of this lot... I am bound to be the slowest given I am trying to keep my record of fines down to zero.

Any others keen for a more relaxed pace please feel free to join me.... so I don't get lost for a start!!
