As long as Maori kids keep getting brought up in violent negative environments where underachievement and criminality is expected and encouraged.

I can't think of any solutions off the top of my head, other than stuffing 'em all into gas chambers until the problem no longer exists. Apparently you're not allowed to do that these days, though. Someone tried it once, but was stupid enough to declare war on the entire world at the same time, and got distracted.

While I detest MMP and the fact that we even have a Maori Party, I'm actually marginally impressed with what the Maori party are saying in that they've got to get off welfare. If they tackle this chronic problem alone, then many of the other social problems with Maori would be more manageable.
