    Road rage in Rotorua

Person shot because he was following too close behind another vehicle in Eruera St. I know we joke about carrying handguns to deal to aggro car drivers (alright, maybe some of you don't joke about it) but it looks like we've progressed from the lowly hammer to the gun.
Seriously makes you wonder what some people do carry in their cars and how long it will be before someone gets their head blown off by a triggerhappy pissed off motorist.
    Scary.

Police are believed to be worried about the mental state of an enraged gunman who shot a motorist in the face - apparently because he did not like him following so close.

The 32-year-old victim was also shot in the arm and beaten with a pistol by the gunman during the incident in Eruera St in central Rotorua on Thursday night.

The victim's injuries were not life-threatening and he was treated at Rotorua Hospital.

Police were still hunting for the gunman today but refused to give any details of the gunman or the shooting.

Detective Senior Sergeant Mark Loper from the Rotorua CIB said no more details would be released until Monday, including a description of the gunman, his car or what police believed was behind the attack.

He would not say why details would not be released but police were understood to be worried about the gunman's mental state.

Some witnesses were tourists and Mr Loper said police would talk to some of the witnesses in Taupo today.

It would have been likely a spring powered air pistol. Maybe carbon powered if the poor dude was unlucky haha.

This is the kind of punch they have....

The fully automatic ones aren't very common in NZ but the semiauto ones are.

Bikers carry guns as well. I posted the following story in the other forum a few days ago:

Only the crims have real guns here...

In fact, it's illegal to hurt a crim even if they're robbing you in your own home....

It's ironic that in the U.S., in the states that have fairly liberal gun laws, things like road rage, muggings, and home invasion are virtually unheard of.

Makes you wonder if the crims are thinking twice about their own mortality
