    I wouldn't expect anything in the near future, I mean its a hell of a lot easier to grow a pipe (or ear) but the techniques just aren't there yet to successfully grow organs (such as the heart or whatever).

    mate.. it wont be far off....skin is an organ.. they have grown that several hundred thousand times..the complex structures are not that hard with a few tweaks...

    I highly doubt it, since a complex organ (such as the heart) has a lot more cell types than just one or two. They may be able to grow something that looks like a heart, but having it fully function is another story.

    It's true that there's no risk-free GE products, however, some forget that humans have been tweaking other species for a fookin' long time. We've had problems with some of the results but some of them are responsible for making our current lifestyle possible.

    Some strands of Nanotech research make me way more twitchy...
