H.A.R.D. electrical problems

Once again I call upon infinite wisdom of the electrical gurus' of this wonderful site

My HARD system has stopped working, here is the deal.

I wired my HARD system under the seat so as to prevent moisture corrosion. The HARD system basically sends a wireless signal to the red bulb in my helmet when the radar goes off.

I noticed some corrosion in the little box so I opened it up and cleaned the rust off with a scalpel (this was yesterday). Still doesn't work.

Today we realized one of the 4 wires to the terminals had come off so we took them all off and re-soldered them on, just to be sure. Still doesn't work.

The radar works fine when connected to the wire directly, bi passing the HARD box. So we know that the radar is fine.

The other thing we checked was to see if the RJ22 plug and connecting wire were fine; and they were. I fit a new RJ 22 plug to the wire just to make sure. Then reversed the side connecting to the wire too as there aren't any markers so essentially you never know which was is right. Still doesn't work.

Can all you electrically minded people offer me some advise on how to fix this problem and get me HARD system working again?

I had one and the switch in the receiver fucked out. The electronics in the hard system are pretty crap quality according to the electronics guy at work who fixed it for me. Thats why I've gone to a screamer

You could perhaps be barking in the wrong back yard !
But then you may not !
I have had a couple problems at the helmet end where batteries aint making good contact ! (you did check the batteries aye ? i go through a set every couple of months)
found that if i give the board a bend, just to check as it creates a better contact (taken out of plastic fing) move batteries around a bit or wet and dry or even spirit clean the contact surfaces ! think it may be a bit of sweaty fingerprint building up or somit !
Worth a crack bro !

Gr8 idea to check batteries, sometimes the solution is simple and you are thinking too deep. BUT, the problem is not in the helmet. It is in the little black box with the green light on it. The actual wireless transmitter. It could be a blown resistor or anything. How do I know for sure...?

Only thing i can think there is a thread calling all hard owners for help ! Doubt there would be dif frequencies and the like so some one with a working unit close to you be the best troubleshoot !
Edit h wait this is one ! Sorry dude i'm at the wrong end of the island but however i will be there radar in tow at the track on friday !

Its pretty difficult to resolve a technical fault from a laymans description. All we can really do is conclude the fault is in the transmitter.

Post it to me if you like and I'll have a nosey at it for ya.

so to get it under your seat you would have had to extend the phone cord, i take it youv tryed it without the extra extention.
i had a fault with mine chewing thru batterys in 30mins.

yep, it worked fine without the extension.

Its too tiny for me to work on mate. The cable needs attaching properly and thats just too small for my gear, assuming thats even the fault.

Someone with a professional desoldering station might help.

For those who are interested, the transmitter has a quad NAND gate, Holtek ht-12e remote control encoder chip, and a 433MHz micrf102bm transmitter SOIC.

So its basically RF TV remote control with only one button input.
