    Just another Newbie - Icemaestro

Apon much deliberation on how much I value my life, a bit of monetary support from the girlfriend, and a couple of rides on a mate's hyosung, I am now the owner of a honda CBX250rs. It's a bit old (83), used to belong to Timmy, one of the members on here, but I'd had a look through and seen all the work done on it, seems to me to be a good learners bike? Just need it for commuting over the bridge.

Anyway, just asking about general maintenance with such an older bike, whether I should actually go get the rings replaced down at wild west hondas or leave it to keep burning a bit of oil?

Haha cheers for that, good point...it is using about 500mls/week though...ok another question, should I get a service done straight away to check it out and stuff? Cause at the mo I wouldn't have a clue what kinda oil and stuff to use..I'd also quite like to learn how to replace the filter and stuff myself

Just talked to the owner he's in his last year of mechanical engineering so did all the work himself - any search on here for cbx250rs from Timmay will show the stuff he did (not that I understand it). the oil filter was changed about 6 months ago, and it's being topped up with motul 15-w40 - I've only just got my licence so just practicing on it at the mo. Can't find the manual...google or otherwise.
