    Paint touching up

So i had an incident the other day where as i came to a stop on my bike i lost my footing on stones and the bike went over the damage isent too bad but it did scratch the paint up a little bit
basically i want to know if anyone knows roughly how much it would cost to get a whole side and part of a front fairing repainted OR how much it would cost to get "the touch up guys" or the likes to propely touch up some scratches. there are 3 smallish areas that need fixing and when i say touch up i was thinking more actual painting and not pencil touching
btw the bike is a VFR800 if that helps

    Sorry to hear your news.
I don't know the answer, but I'd be interested when you find out. My bike's like that on both sides, and the tank has scratches from grit getting under the tank bag.
    ... and that's what I think.

    Or summat.

    Or maybe not...

    Dunno really....

    Hey,

Also had a very similar experience, except slightly more embarrassing because I was just wheeling it into the garage and it overbalanced..

Rang around a few places and found that for touch up paint (R-157 Italian Red) it would cost about $80 (as it's two coats), $30 for colour matched single coat or ~180 for a respray of the lower third of the fairing (from radiator down on RHS). I went for the $30 dollar option (I figure either do it completely right or not at all) and will keep you posted with my handywork.

Soo... picked up my mostly colourmatched $30 tin of paint this afternoon, cleaned the bike and delicately applied the paint. I think it went alright. I'll take some photos and post them up.

Honestly though, once I'm a bit more confident with the bike and completely comfortable with how it handles and where the CoG is i'll look at getting that side resprayed all nice and shiny. I figure $180 is a small price to pay for a mint looking bike.
