Number plate lights

Just stumbled across these:

Bloody brilliant idea, I hadn't heard of them before, gets rid of that pesky issue of where to mount a Plate Light after a tail tidy.

An LED mounted inside a bolt with a slit to let the light through.

One issue I can see is the legal requirement that the source of light is not itself directly visible, so if the plate is not perfectly vertical, maybe the bolt would have to be mounted at an angle.

But yeah, very intersted in these - for exactly the tail-tidy issue.

No problemo: if the plate is angled out (bottom further from bike than top), you just mount the lights on the bottom, pointing upwards.

They were (I think) developed for the Mrkn market, where they have to have a separate (urrgleee) light for the number plate, rather than just a clear lens in the bottom of the taillight. So whenever someone does a 'tail tidy', one of the first things to go is usually the numberplate light.
