Wow...lucky you The 1ST to get to be pillon on WT's bike

You're crazy of course to get on the back with him at the handle bars...specially up the TAKAS and not just some random Carpark

Go for an R1 tho mate...GSXR 1000's are poo in comparison
(600's are exception to GSXR rule)

So, how often do you guys do these rides? I have only just moved to wellington, so dont know any of these meeting places you speak of. Went and had my first look at the rimutaka's on sat arvo. Wow, what a road. Shame about the roadworks at the bottom, and the insane wind that threatend to blow me straight of the side of the hill.

This answer from WT must ofcourse be translated using the "WT Translator, 4th version (Tm)".

Got some bad news for ZXR250. I rode over the hill on Saturday. We use a more favourable (re-calibrated for local conditions) wind speed factor here. That was our " the breeze is picking up a bit mate" wind. Wait for "its windy today" (= 150kph+). And welcome.

Oooh bugger. Well in saying that, I didnt really notice it on the way up. It was when I stopped at the sumit I noticed it! Also on the way down I got stuck behind a whole lot of cars going slow. The whole centrifugal force and a rotating object resistance to movemet isnt so strong when your going slow and you seem to feel the wind a lot more. Once I got back into it I felt a lot better.

Note: Wind was 80 kph (followed the shadow of a cloud)

I came back over the Rimutakas one time in an absolute gale, in the dark, in the rain, with a tinted visor (I think, although I could possibly be making that up for dramatic effect?), and a car had just gone off the edge and a guy was waving all the traffick down to watch out. Mate! That was a pretty disturbing ride!
Welcome to KB though ZXR250! See you on Thurs if there's a ride on. But watch it down South Karori there mate! We yokels, sorry - locals, have guns and aint afraid to use 'em.... (There's dang screamin' two strokes on that there hill agin Cletus - go an get the shotgun!)
