we over touring for 6 weeks. Hiring a bike that long would be prohibitivly expensive when you can ship and ride your own pride and joy (which is why I bought it) at a fraction of cost.Some of the hire bikes I 've seen have big numerals painted on the fairing. Reminds me of hire rowboats at Eastborne many years ago. " Come in number 13, your time is up"

But surely insurance costs must be HUGE ! Your are right about having your own bike though. Perhaps that actually saved your skins? That extra 2 seconds reaction time. Was Mr & Mrs Hitcher with you at the time?

I have a workmate interested in your highway pegs so let me know by PM if you havent already out them on trade me , or better still, when you do so he can check them out and at least get your bidding going for you. I have to admit I think they are well worth what you want, very nice and solid.
