Hmmm. Of course, this is a highly subjective decision. My best so far would be Slipknot a coupla months ago. Or Korn earlier this year. Awesome performances both of them, and you know you've been to a good concert when your lungs are collapsing from being trampled, your voice is gone, you cannot hear your mate talking in the car, and your head is exploding from the sheer awesome.

It's also down to what happens on the night, for instance Disturbed could have been up there on the list, if the sound had been better (I believe the sound techs have been convicted and beheaded for that not-bad-but-not-awesome concert).

Music-related quote of the week must go to Rob Hosking on the Who concert (paraphrasing, can't find the linky at the moment) "I'm not going because I'm too old, and so are they."

I've always believed that live music sounds better in smaller settings.I have seen The Stones and Bowie in stadiums and while they both were way past there best it hardly left much of an impression (maybe coz the boppers keep cheering each time they shook there asses)Dave Dobbyn down at the local pub is a better memory.
But for me the best would have to be Stevie Ray Vaughan, the man bled class out of every note he sang and played.Married a kiwi girl to boot,so had taste in women as well.

agreed. anyone go to any of the feelers concerts this year? held in country halls, with about 50 people at the most, they rocked the house, so much I felt like joining in and having a jam...

Oh f'sure, Newcastle Riverside 500 people capacity, saw Faith No More on the Epic tour, Pearl Jam (Alive) and Smashing Pumpkins (Gish) on consecutive nights but New Model Army for the venue's 10th birthday party rates the best gig I ever went to...

    Any tight Big Band(TM).

There's something special about swing jazz, even cover versions of Motown hits...

Pink Floyds Dark Side Of The Moon concert is still the one to beat out of all the concerts I've seen. Awesome laser show!! Paul McCartneys concert had a great vibe as so many people sang along and being with 70,000 people singing along was pretty cool. I still like Metallica..Ozzfest even

But when they're held for pleasure
They're the balls that I like best
