Good call to go in to Clubmans first out I think. I did F1/F2 for my first meeting, and although my pace was ok, it was quite a shock learning the passing and close dicing thing with more experienced and aggressive peeps./QUOTE]

Yeah Toast, all us oldies in Clubmans are gentlemen,
no aggression at all !! Gaz.

    Man how things have changed.
I remember when clubmans was manily for road riders with standard road bikes, now it seems you need a generator, tyre warmers and a spare set of wheels with wets.
It is good to see that you are out on the track, and as it is your first time clubmans was the correct choice. You lap times are pretty good so you could possibly move up a grade in a couple of races. Sometimes it is safer riding with the more experienced riders.
Alot of first timers get put off racing as there are some fast riders that only ever ride in clubmans and scare the shit out of novice.
Its great to see new riders at the track and we should encourage more novices to give it a go.
Keep it up right, and I wish you the best with your racing.

The VIC club have done something in this regard - They have a cut-off time for clubmans - if you are consistently fast they kick you out and they no longer have it as a championship class, to stop burglars lurking there. I rode my bike to all the meeting in the winter series, but I did invest in tyre warmers after two rounds - made me feel like a pro but I suspect the improvement in lap times was due more to practice !!
    Oh - I AM old
