    A big thank you

    Well OS Racing has just completed its first years racing. I took a bit of a back seat this year on the 675, but still managed to grab a few race wins at BEARS winter series and a 3rd BEARS overall at Greymouth. Had a blast, took a trip up to Manfield and managed to get away with a couple of small spills.

    Pete SV 650(also sponsor) had a terrific season too. In his first season of racing he managed to take a race win (in the wet...which he swore that he wouldn,t race in !!!) Got third places in King of Levels & King of Ruapuna clubmans championships. Improved at ruapuna from 1:58 in march to 1:46 later in year. And has entered Nelson Streetrace in Jan for his first taste of "real racing".

    The star of the show Anthony (ANTS) on the Rg150 has gone from total bike racing & riding beginner to "a real contender" for the up coming national support races. He proved last meeting that he is now capable of running at the front of streetstock. He took a hard fought 2nd place in race 2 (his best result) The trip to Manfield was also a big stepping stone for him after playing at the local tracks. He managed at 4th place finish after starting on the last row. A 5th place in Sportzfoto Cup and "Best Newcomer" award, added to "most improved rider" at King of levels gave him some prizes too. Not to mention the fact that he took to the 675 like "a duck to water" beating pete and recording a 1;47 on his second ride. I thought riding a honda cub was cool when i was 15!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Its been a lot of hard work, although we have been lucky with crashes etc. However it would not have been possible without our sponsors and supporters. I would like to thank the following
    FORBES & DAVIES. Particually Trevor & Mark Evans (chch branch manager and sales rep) You guys have been "stars" all year always delivering as promised and on time. That includes special trips at short notice and coming to greymouth to support us and help as pit crew. They are also supporting ANTS at the nationals. Their products have been awesome too
    Dunlop & Metzeler tyre (we run both) Faultless
    Duro Tyres (we tested them on 150....... lapped at 1:56 nothing wrong with them!
    Maxima oils. I cant say enough about these oils. The RG has run like a fine watch using SUPER M injector mix & MTL80 trans oil. Just done a rebuild and the inside looks like new AWESOME STUFF. Also 530RR engine oil..... the 675 has done over 20000km now and some experts would say it should have exploded long ago, but 530RR seems to be doin it stuff.
    FFM Helmets. A+++++
    Forma Boots. A+++++
    GP Stars leathers. lookin a bit tired but done the job

    Pete. HAMILTON SEED LTD Southbridge. A bike race fanatic (and decent racer too) Although a seed company probebly doesnt gain any work out of sponsorship(like most i guess) this has not stopped pete & wife jackie from helping us beyond all expectations. Nothing is to much trouble and and your help is beyond words. They have already committed themselves to supporting us for the forseable future. LEGENDS

    My partner Nicki and ANTS younger brother Christopher. We must drive you mad with our constant rantings "about racing/bikes/etc. Not to mention the financial/self sacrifices you have both made to allow us to race. ANTS promises that he will pay it all back when he is FAMOUS!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Pete Jones (Oyster) pete built us an engine in a very short time frame at the beginning of the year. After a couple of hiccups (which he sorted even quicker) it has performed without a hitch all season. And as i said earlier it still looks and performs like new. Must not forget also that without this man the whole junior "scene' would not exist. Always finding time for everybody (god knows how) another LEGEND.

    Sportzfotoz. Jenny & Paul had the "vision" to support P Jones in his early: days. The Sportzfotoz Junior Cup is an AWESOME race series. They have also helped us out during the year with promo material and supporting us at other public events. *STARS*

    Street & Sport motorcycles ChCh. Phil & Glen have been a great source of information and doers of "good deals" all year. Also helping out when i have been "on the borrow" GREAT GUYS..sell awesome bikes too.

    There are also lots of other people (too many to list) that have helped us in many ways. To those people we also would like to say THANK YOU.

    So what does the future hold........................ I am officially retiring after Nelson Streetrace and the 675 will go up for sale. (although i will do Metheven streetrace if i still have it then) I want to concentrate on progressing ANTS to much greater things. (i have a plan)
    Pete is also going to do Nelson races then handing the keys of the SV650 over to ANTS. Over the close season we will build it to full pro-twin spec.
    Between us me & pete have decided that we should concentrate all our efforts into the 'star of the future". I think we will both do the odd meeting and i can see a couple of "buckets' appearing shortly..HeHeeeeeeee.
    ANTS is age eligable for another full season in streetstock so we are going to run him untill end of nats in 2011 on the 150 to gain him maximum tracktime and hopefully a championship (or 2) He will also ride the SV pro-twin next year with no pressure except to gain experience and race-craft. .
    we have a plan beyond that but lets just see what next season brings eh.

    I know ANTS has the ability to "go places". I am going to put all my efforts into making sure he has the best chance to make this happen.
    Remember you heard the name here first.

    cheers Wharfy.
    Not gonna make wanga,s due to some late season financial probs (short time at work) we had to make some ammendments to race program..so Burt munroe & Wanganui had to go as they were the least important to young ants racing program (only really an excuse for me to play)
    Gutted about Wanganui as the entrylist looks awesome. but something had to give. Will be up north again next year with the lad. if right deals come to fruition will be doing tri-series with the pro-twin.
    keep the flag flying for the 'trumpets" mate.................they do feature in my "BIG PLAN" for the future

    cheers Wingnut.
    did think i might be a "pushy dad" part way thru the season when he was struggling a little. But it suddenly all came together, he has learnt how to analize his riding, instead of letting it get to him when he makes mistakes. And now understands the whole speed/smoothness (getting every lap right) thing too. The right ATTITUDE is SO IMPORTANT.
    Im sure thatall the other parents of the junior racers are equally proud of their kids (they should be).
    As Puddytat said on another post, not only are they brilliant riders they are a great bunch of youngsters who will go on to better things and with their type of commitment and attitudes will succeed in many other things too.
    I SALUTE THEM ALL

    Exactly. Lessons learnt on attitude etc can be applied in most situations throughout life. Usually for the best.

    Not going anywhere Bren. Just gonna have more time to concentrate on my lad. You might be able to help him too with some rider tips. He needs to be taken to the next level. Interested!

    Still gonna take a big interest in the development of the 675............ the "master plan" still involves that bike.

    Swerve,

    Good work. Especially Pete's tumblin times at Ruapuna, down to a 46's. Hot.
