Indicators taking a while to come on.

So I just got my bike from the bike shop. They got my indicators going again and gave me a wof.

However I now notice that the indicators take a few seconds to come on after I flick the indicator switch. Already nearly been knocked off by a cage as a result of my indicators coming on too late (on way home from bike shop).

Any suggestions how to fix this?

Do they still blink at the same rate as they used to or are they slower / faster?
If slower, the bulbs may be too high a wattage and is causing the flasher unit to take too long to charge up. My stab in the dark for ya.
I may be slow at getting things but..... no wait I'm just slow.

I think they're the same as they were, or maybe a little slower. I don't think the bulbs are higher wattage as they aren't any brighter.

Anyway on the invoice it says they used:
    6V 2w bulbs x2.
    Flasher unit 6V 8w

Not sure what wattage the old ones were. Currently just flicking the switch earlier, but I want to get it sorted, as it used to be instantaneous.

If slower, the bulbs may be too low a wattage, so they don't pull enough current through the flasher. My stab in the not-so-dark.

    Thumbs up

    Opps
Thanks bad Jelly. It has been a while since I last played around with the lights on my bike.
Ps I hope you get your lights fixed soon.

Those look like very low wattages to me. AFAIK indicator bulbs are typically 15W. Though maybe not on 6V systems.

Anyway, the first thing to do is to go back to the bike shop.
