Well, that is a different approach to the American motor conglomerates (ford, etc)... "We'll keep building lumbering pieces of crap that guzzle fuel, then watch the company go down the gurgler whilst expecting the taxpayer to pay for our managerial incompetence".
Very simillar to the downfall of British car and bike manufacturers, evolve or be a dinosaur.

Oh I dunno, a lot of the tech we enjoy on the bikes we ride these days were born/learnt out of MotoGP and Superbikes.
But as with all aspects of living these days do we really need all these developments....
Do I need that super sticky tyre...
Do I need that 50" plasma TV...
Do I need that new iPod Touch...

    Fookin oath I do!

So - who's next? Toyota? - with Honda, the biggest spender in F1.

Ferrari have said they'll pull out if its a one make engine supply......

F1 - as the money came in, the fun and appeal went out.......
It was a flash record considering that they'd pretty much always been a motorcycle manufacturer before that -- they came into F2 and F1 and within a few years won a couple of races. That is impressive if you ask me. Then they decided they'd got what they wanted from it and left the sport.

I'm with you on the money side of F1. Ban all wings/downforce and get rid of the sponsors logos from the cars!

See I think the other way- it is meant to be the absolute pinnacle of car racing - I say let them loose with V12 engines, superchargers, down-force that will allow them to drive upside-down through the tunnels (excellent passing) - go the whole hog - 500kmph speeds on the straights. I want rookie drivers blacking out on the corners due to mega G-forces.....

Real racing - not this crap slot-car-set stuff we see now. We may as well have them radio controlled with the drivers sitting in front of a screen with a hand controller.

Well see that's why I see it differently to you; no downforce means no slot-car glueing to the track, it means cars that move around and about fifteen different possible lines through a corner.

But I see your point. The banning of ground effects, slicks, having big engine restrictions etc... not cool.

Motor racing is supposed to be real worldish?

Oh I see, you mean like the taxi racing...sorry, I mean V8 Supercars...around the Hamilton street circuit. Yeah, we need lots more of that!
