    Back to Ubuntu

My Suse distro of Linux has been wiped off my hard drive....back to what I know is best...Ubuntu

Glad to have a stable machine again...My verdict: Suse Sucks, Ubuntu Rocks!

Oh, for those not in the know...Both Ubuntu and Suse are Linux distrobutions

8.10 feels a lot slower than 8.04 ever did. Might have to shift to standard Debian, I think as my hardware is ageing I'm slipping out of the sort of area that these mainstream distributions target.

    Actually Arch looks quite interesting.

After 2 months of using Gutsy for a living, my verdict is: it lacks stability of XP with all service packs applied. Eclipse sucks, although I am pleasantly surprised with performance of gcc.

I am using Hardy heron , stable enough , but tried ibex ,,,not stable enough , WAS thinking of Debian ,,,but 8 ,04 has been good ,,so am staying with it .

IF Ibex turn into a stable long term I may think about it ,,, but only if i back up everything

wouldnt go back to windows if in a million years ...
