Turns out you are dead right Patrick.
It seems that the people involved are Philip and Michael Taueki.
They claim to be Trustees of the Lake Horowhenua Trust, and that the lease on the boat club land had expired, so they can do what they have done.
Strictly speaking of course, even if a lease has expired there is a process to go through to remove a tenant - you can't just march in and take over.
Particularly when the tenant owns the building and the lease relates only to the land !
So, legally its messy... police are scared of doing the wrong thing and then getting the PC brigade on the case.
I understand the trust deed is being looked at - there is apparently some doubt as to who the trustees are, and if indeed, dumping the sailing club is in the best interests of the trusts beneficiaries.
David must play fair with the other kids, even the idiots.
Hell this is really out there.....
MC Club members pull up where the hell ever patched-up side burns the works, looking ,bad, evil,, nasty, they are quite imtimidating too the general public..So there is f...all difference.
This might sound cheesey but, take as you will "Never show you are itimidated"..
