African Odyssey the movie back in Auckland

    African Odyssey the movie

Missed the Premiere? Well its back. The Odyssey is now screening at Academy Cinemas on Lorne St in Auckland City below the library as a general release.

    www.africanodyssey.co.nz

    Screening Times
    Thursday, Friday, Saturday 3.15pm, 7pm and 9pm
    Sunday 7pm
    Monday, Tuesday 3.15pm and 7pm
    Wed 4pm

The Odyssey conducted a NZ wide tour and has received rave reviews from bikers and non bikers alike. This movie is about taking that step to create your own adventure and about sharing that adventure with good friends (even if you have bugger all experience and the only bike you can afford is a 1990 XR250).

The Soundtrack has been commented on at every screening, great kiwi music from Headline acts such as Kora as well as up and comers Thomas Oliver Band and Matt Langley.

In short, if you like kiwi music, motorbikes and/or adventure and kiwis getting out and doing there thing then you should go along and catch this independent kiwi flick.

    Cheers

It was meant to be screening in Wellington but either I've missed it or it hasn't come yet. Anyone know?

The DVD used to be available on their website. So wander on over. If not, PM me and I can sell a new unused copy. I bought a few to send off to family and friends and have one left.

    Cheers

Well we doubled the audience. We saw it last night and there were four of us! Fantastic movie - we enjoyed it so much we're going to buy the DVD.

It just goes to show you don't need million-dollar kit, support vehicles and half a ton of gear on your bike to go out there and have an adventure. I mean, I loved Ewan & Charlie's trip, but this one was so much more do-able for ordinary people who were just in it for a laugh.

Although I must admit I would have undertaken a little more preventative maintenance before leaving home... clutch cable snapped on first day?!

I bought the DVD via the web site & got it yesterday. Guess what my bike-riding friends are getting for Xmas? That's right - they will get the opportunity to sit beside me on the sofa & watch my DVD! Hooray for them!
