    FZ1 front fork noise

Early days on my new 2nd hand 03 FZ1, and I notice a slight clunk sound on first movement of front forks, going over bumps. Doesnt happen statically when pumping the forks, but only on fast movement, Forks feel good otherwise. Anyone else notice fork noise over bumps, or maybe I should check fork oil volumes (you'd think I wouldnt need to ask with my nic!)

No, happens hot as well, after riding tonite, I think its coming from the fairing, something rubbing or creaking as front end gets a jolt.

Is the noise a metallic kind of sound or does it sound more of a plasticy fairing or mudguard sound?

If it sounds metallic Id have a look at your fork springs to see if their hiting the insides of the forks(they usually have a rubber sleeve to stop this). Then after this Id be checking fork bushings for uneven wear or play.

How many k's on the bike by the way?

If it sounds plasticy just go around the front of the bike gently hiting the fairings with the back of your hand and keep an ear out for the sound this way.

It sounds plastic, so I will take your advice and tap around the fairing. Its an 03 with 27K on the clock, but in immac condition. Pulls like a train and feels on rails cornering, just feels weird going at speed into corners sitting upright!!
