In any case it would be cool to see some '09 1098s machines out there competing in Superbike and bears etc as they provide an excellent 'bang for buck' and should be competitive with a bit of development( and the new mv's and aprilias!!!! )

Surprisingly out of the huge entry's at Sound Of Thunder I only saw two 1098's, but they were HAULING love to have a go on one of them babies. Sure would be a beautiful thing to see some out in Superbike.

Frankly so would I love to see them mixing it in that class. The problem is I think you will find that the R models are legislated as illegal in that class.

I heard that too. Pity, as Im sure there must be some 'crashed' ones around the world by now going cheap. Is it because of the lack of sales here? or the cc rating? If only we had more BEARs racing up here in the north. Seems like the south Island has it sorted in that respect eh.

The current Ducati models are 1198,1198s and 1198r

I think the 's' would still be eligible? alot cheaper too! 170hp compared with 180hp in the 'r' or something like that, all of the rest of the kit is about the same, should be competitive.
