The new toy - For those interested

Here it is. A month or so after taking ownership from Shaun Harris, the machine looks a little bit different now.

    The bike:

    2005 Suzuki GSX-R600

    Mods:

    Leo Vince titanium race system
    Yoshimura ECU
    Yoshimura Rear sets
    Power Commander
    Fibreglass race fairings

Whilst sitting at home with injuries and the up coming three hour endurance race, I decided that I really wanted to do it. But I needed a partner and I needed a bike. I managed to get a partner (Vtec - Jason) but neither of us had a bike. After some prompting from Shaun a K5 GSXR 600 was purchased and we had a bike.

With some incredible generosity of some companies we are both now completely sorted for this race meeting and I can't wait to get out there on the new bike.

I'd like to really thank the following people/companies, without them this would have been impossible.

    On my behalf

Hi Torque Cycles Paraparaumu - Dave Freeman. An immense help!
Moto Academy NZ - Steve Bagshaw. Helping young riders!
Andrew and Leigh (Skunk and SkunkControl off kb) Supporting me with ideas and help.

    And on Jasons Behalf

    Carbines Engineering - Robotic Installations
Victoria Motorcycle Wreckers - Melbourne, Australia. These guys have everything
Pakuranga Dental Surgery - Speak to Leong, he's a legend and he's on these forums

I'm very quickly learning that this motorcycle racing thing (even at an amateur stage) Involves a HUGE amount of people, many of them never ever receiving credit for their effort. Again thanks to everyone and anyone who has helped out!

Anyway, less talk more pictures eh!

    Cheers,

    Glen

You have done an awesome job with the bike Glenn and I am sure you will do well in the Endurance race on it. Goodluck to you with the outcome.

    Lookin’ nice, Glen.

Can’t wait to see you get to grips with that bike, and see Jason back on a 600 (‘bout f’k’n time!)

Are you guys racing it on the 27/28th? Or just the endurance race?

Good post Glen, just saw Leong this morning, he wants to see photos of the bike so he can make up his sticker the right colour, I'll send him the link to this thread. Kickass.

Leong's even got an LCD display so he can show you on-board motorcycle racing footage while he does your teeth. Good stuff.

Another thing, can you list the mods so our sponsors know what we're working with. I'm not even too sure.

You guys are going to be a potent combo out there, the bike is looking sweet and it looks like you guys have some solid support behind you too.

Looking forward to watching you guys in action after Christmas!

Yeah mate, I've been trying to think of an easy way to get them down. Might make a post and see if anyone can bring em to the TRRS. Cheers
