    MNZ Super Sport 600 rules?

    Re Super Sport 600 class

Can some one show me where it says in the rules for this class, that a RACE wiring loom is allowed?

    Thanks

I don't have my copy of the rules beside me, but I am about 90% sure that in 05 the rules were you could alter the loom to allow a/m ECU's. Then in 06 ( i think??) they changed it to the actual loom could be changed. I just tried getting onto the MNZ site to quote it but the rules aren't up??
Have they changed this again? lol wouldn't suprise me seeing as how national season is on us again!

The MNZ site is having trouble at the moment, and is being worked on, hense my question.

As i was not really around last year, I cannot remember the rules totally, and have noticed a few 600 bikes out and about with the full loom on them, so was wondering the fact in it

Here is a quote re the rules Maido! Taken from www.nzsbk.co.nz How do you read and understand this mate?

    1) Only spark plugs may be replaced. Igniter unit (Blackbox) maybe changed providing wiring loom is not altered.

    2) 3-25 Ignition/Engine Control System

Only spark plugs may be replaced. Igniter unit (Blackbox) maybe changed providing wiring loom is not altered.

I know I am a bit thick, but I am sure this is saying in "quote no1- that you can change the ECU, but NOT the wire loom? and then ("Quote2")
it is clarifying that NO alterations are to be done to the loom at all?

Yeah Shaun, that is exactly how I read it as well! Only it is different from the rules I have had at home, I will scan and post them tonight. They must have changed them again, excellent communication! How do people without the interweb get on I wonder?

    jeremy

PS I think they usually have the new rules in bold on the MNZ website. I will wait till I read the rules on the MNZ site. Also As you cannot change the loom, does this mean that you cannot add to the loom, ie power commanders? That would be interesting.......

NO MATE, Power commanders are ok! You can plug into Standard Loom for a power commander only, CANNOT modify Std loom for any thing else or use a race loom.

Shaun, I just looked up the NZSBk site, the loom rule is under fuel injection.

    -16 Fuel Injection System

The fuel injection management computer chip (EPROM) may be changed, alternatively an adjustable EPROM devise / wiring loom may be fitted. A heat shield may be installed between the engine and throttle bodies, provided the airbox is not altered.

This clears up the whole PC with its extra loom business.

So Rule Number 3-25 Ignition/Engine Control System

Only spark plugs may be replaced. Igniter unit (Blackbox) maybe changed providing wiring loom is not altered.

IS WRONG or Rule number -16 is wrong

What a crock of shit, to not be able to put english together so any one can read it and understand

By this i assume they are covering the wiring & plugs that come with the commander only ?

    Loomy looms

Yes you can change the looms. The rules have allways been odd, needing a lawyer to decipher them, but you will also need a lawyer to try to conflict them.
MNZ website last time I looked still had the old rules from a couple of years ago, eg parts of same manufacturer for superbike class etc - (hi Robert!)
MNZ send out ammendments through mail I believe?

I cant help myself Shaun but I have to give you some stick, do Triumph not make a race ECU and loom for a Triumph Trident? All hail the Jappas!
