    Bit of entomology...

Went out for a quick ride before the rains came this arvo.

Whipped off the cover, took the lock off and rolled here out from under the concrete carporty, balcony type thing.

Lo and behold, About 30 gold coloured beetles came swarming from under my tyres.

Little bastards. Never seen em before. Weren't there yesterday. Suddenly theres loads of em.

Question is, shall i seek and destroy before they enter the house at night and eat my brains? And, more importantly, before they eat my tyres?

Anyone else had a close encounter with this strange alien species? Would they be baby cockroaches?

The test in Dunedin has finished, so they can't be crickets.

Your description is a bit vague, but if they're light-coloured cockroaches, then they're native ones, and you shouldn't kill them - they eat only plant material, and are harmless.
If they're dark brown or black, splat the fuckers.
    ... and that's what I think.

    Or summat.

    Or maybe not...

    Dunno really....

On the other hand - didn't you recently report that your fork seal was ferkt?

I think you may have found the culprits: the lesser-spotted bronze fork seal chomping bugs.
    ... and that's what I think.

Maybe they were in there all along. Tyre-eating hell beetles born of fork oil.

They were definitely bigger (and more numerous) than the one in the diagram. I swear it guv'nu
