Gee, RS250's aren't cheap. Seen one at a dealer with high k's and gashes on the side and they still want $10000

Not sure if it really is cheaper than a 600. Sure, you might be able to buy a chassis from a wrecker for cheap, but the LTNZ wouldn't let you have it on the road until you've paid them a King's ransom.

Wouldn't mind buying an engine and making my own chassis.

And hopefully that idea won't be so unrealistic since my brother is going to learn fabrication and hopefully he can teach me a thing or two in return for teaching him how to paint.

There's one on trademe at the moment for $5500, you'll pay even less for one with a blown motor.

Just the low volume cert and you're good to go.

Yeah I reckon... anything that makes an R6 looks like a fat slow whale is pretty impressive

Yeah, I can't find the page either! However... I'm on the email list, and the email had the link in it. Not sure if you can get to it from the regular site, or you need the actual link. Keep meaning to investigate, but you know, lazy :S

Gotta say, very reasonably priced given what you get. Those reed blocks are freakishly large! 30% more torque than a 600 IL4, and 30kgs less weight... hell yeah!

its all looking good for the 2 smokers at the mo. so lets see, learners grabs a 250cc 2 stroke and adds some tune up bits their gonna get more push than a stock 400 maybe 600 4 stroke. now i wonder if the ltsa will reconsider its 250 rule???

I know I know of course they wont.

Can't you keep it registered as an RS250? Why tell anyone official what's under the skirt? (Although I think the temptation to show off might be too hard for me)

Even a standard RS250 will eat the 400, this is aimed at chasing much larger fish than that
